In the gutter, down the drain...

Not me but two problems I have, both related to building, and both unrelated to work (thank goodness). Problem number one concerns draining of a foul sewer (if the thought makes you wrinkle your nose, then you're not alone!). I have an above ground, inside the building, pipe which joins a lavatory to the waste stack. I don't think it is clearing properly. Something must have shifted. I think I'm going to have to spend an age with a spirit level and string to re-set the "fall" on it properly. It's a nuisance that I have a similar problem with a gutter at another location. You would think it would be relatively easy to get a gutter to drain properly. It is usually but on this occassion I'm constrained at both ends and there is a right-angled corner in the middle. I'll get it right in the end.
